What is God's Message of Hope?
Here at North Naples Baptist Church, we have a simple word for this message...
We call it the GOSPEL, and it can be summed up in just a few short sentences.
We call it the GOSPEL, and it can be summed up in just a few short sentences.
G
God created us to be with Him.
Psalm 100:3 - "Know that the Lord is God. It is He who made us, and we are His."
O
Our sins separate us from God.
Romans 3:23 - "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
S
Sins cannot be removed by good deeds.
Isaiah 64:6 - "All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags."
P
Paying the price for sin, Jesus died and rose again.
Romans 5:8 - "But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
E
Everyone who trusts in Him alone has eternal life.
John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."
L
Life with Jesus starts now and lasts forever.
John 17:3 - "Now this is eternal life: That they know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent."
How do I respond?
Now that you know what the GOSPEL is, what can you do about it?
There are just three things that Scripture asks of us in order to be saved by God's free gift of salvation:
Admit, Believe, and Confess.
There are just three things that Scripture asks of us in order to be saved by God's free gift of salvation:
Admit, Believe, and Confess.
ADMIT
Admit to God that you are a sinner.
Tell God that you've messed up and you are sorry for doing your own thing. Tell Him that you're sorry for turning away from Him and His plan for you through your thoughts words, and actions.
Repent, and actively choose to turn away from your sin. Repenting doesn't just mean turning from doing bad things to doing good things. It means turning from sin and turning to Jesus, trusting in Him and Him alone to save you.

BELIEVE
Believe that Jesus is God's Son and receive God's gift of forgiveness from sin.
You must believe that only Jesus can save you, and you cannot save yourself from your sin problem.
Praying every night before bed doesn't save you.
Going to church every Sunday doesn't save you.
Reading your Bible doesn't save you.
Your faith or your trust is only in Jesus and what He did for you through His life, death, and resurrection.

CONFESS
Confess your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
Tell God and tell others what you believe. If Jesus is your Savior, you are trusting only in Him to save you.
Jesus is also Lord, which means from this day forward, He is the one in charge. You can start following Him by doing what He asks us to do in the Bible.
You are born again into a new life and look forward to being with God forever.
