Ephesians 2 tells us that we "can't take credit" for our salvation. "It is a gift from God."

We didn't do anything to earn our salvation, but just because we can't (or didn't) work to earn it, that doesn't mean we can live our life ignorantly, not living as a result of the grace and salvation we've received.
